There’s something really magical about the Old Port in the summertime. The air is warm with the perfect amount of breeze, and everyone seems happy to just walk, eat and spend time with one another. It’s no wonder it is the perfect place to celebrate the union of Marina and Olivier. Perfectly coordinated by Montreal super-planner Maryse Noël, this beautiful wedding is one we’ll never forget.
An Elegant Wedding, An Elegant Bride
We started the day off by visiting Marina in her luxurious room at the Loft Hotel. Looking way more peaceful than I would be on my wedding day, she gracefully smiled at me and Vera (her photographer for the day, and La V image’s creator) as her and her friends hopped on the bed and jumped in a way that reminded me of the Princess Diaries slumber party scene in the best way possible.
From the Church to the Cobblestone Streets
Marina and Olivier’s ceremony was classic and traditional, and the crowd was as emotional as you might expect. As they walked out of the church arm in arm, they were followed by so many loving arms ready to congratulate. After some group photos we took the two for a stroll through the cobble stone streets and took photos they could hold onto forever. From jumping in the air, to snuggled on a park bench – these two were totally connected, and totally adorable walking as husband and wife.
The Perfect Old Port Reception
Any foodies who find themselves in the Old Port of Montreal should take the liberty of going out to eat at the Old Port Steakhouse. Marina and Olivier choose this hotspot as their reception location, and the gorgeous room was full of treats, love and heartfelt speeches to be. They got their tiered cake from Dolci Piu and it was the perfect dusty pink that every bride-to-be has been dreaming of. If I felt emotional as Marina and Olivier danced their first dance to “Kiss Me” by Sixpence the Richer, then you can imagine how the rest of the room was feeling. Delicious food, amazing dancing and a beautiful couple.
